Dr Nola Firth is an Honorary Research Fellow at The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the University of Melbourne. She is a Churchill Fellow, was a member of the National Dyslexia Working Party and a presenter at the national Dyslexia Roundtable in 2014.  Originally a secondary teacher, she became a special education consultant and a president of Learning Difficulties Australia. Nola has over 30 years of experience working with students who have learning disabilities, their parents, teachers, and other professionals. Her research concerns the development and trial of school-based resilience promoting programs and environments for those who have dyslexia. Her journal articles and other publications have been published nationally and internationally. She is the lead author of Success and Dyslexia.

In 2018 Nola received the Dr Nola Firth Oustanding Contribution to Dyslexia in Australia Award, presented to her at the 2018 Dear Dyslexic Foundation Gala.
