The foundation is a grassroots not-for-profit social enterprise focused on empowering and assisting those with hidden learning disabilities. It takes a community of support to keep doing our work. Together we are strong, alone we are nothing and with your help, we can change the world for young people and adults with dyslexia so they can live healthier, happier more connected lives.

We know that:

  • 1 in 10 people have dyslexia
  • Dyslexic adults are 46% more likely to attempt suicide compared to the general population
  • Up to 40% of incarcerated people have been identified as dyslexic

Our challenge:

We are increasingly concerned for the wellbeing and achievement of Dyslexic individuals in the current pandemic environment, as transitions to online/remote platforms in education and work settings may deepen disadvantage.

We are finding it increasingly difficult to keep providing our support and services in this disrupted environment.

Your urgent donation is needed now:

DDF knows that it takes on average 10 years to establish as a self-sustaining social enterprise. We operate on a minimal budget and without any government funding at this stage. To continue to the work of the foundation, we need critical funds and increased awareness of our service offering across local communities of Australia.

DDF is committed to raising awareness of dyslexia through direct action and education. We share stories of people living with dyslexia and carry out research to contribute towards evidence-informed practice. The Foundation gives young people and adults a platform to share their lived experience of dyslexia and other learning disabilities. We use storytelling to give people a voice, empowering young people and adults with dyslexia to reach their full potential.

Thank you for taking action today!

Donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
